MTS is excited to welcome Jerry Cook to the position of Vice President of Aerospace and Technology. Jerry officially joined the MTS team on July 2, 2018, and will manage the company's aerospace business and lead efforts in new technology pursuits.

Jerry recently retired from a 33-year career at NASA where he most recently served as Deputy Manager of NASA's Space Launch System, responsible for planning and execution of all activities during the design, development, manufacturing, test and operations for the SLS with a budget of $2 billion annually. Previously, he was Deputy Director of NASA's John C. Stennis Space Center. Jerry has worked closely with Federal and state congressional members, including serving as the NASA HQ Associate Administrator for Aeronautics and the Legislative Affairs Liaison for the Office of Aerospace Technology.

Jerry has received many awards in his distinguished career including the NASA Silver Snoopy, AIAA Engineer of the Year, NASA Exceptional Achievement Award, and NASA Exceptional Service Award. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama, and is a University of Alabama Department of Mechanical Engineering Fellow and a University of Alabama College of Engineering Distinguished Fellow.

MTS is pleased to be a part of the SAIC team that was recently awarded the NASA Headquarters (HQ) Data Analysis and Technical Support Services (DATSS) contract. The five-year contract, valued at over $48 million, is to provide management services; studies and assessments; project planning, scheduling, and reporting; training development and execution; policy development; and application systems and database technical support to NASA HQ in Washington, DC.

MTS, a Veteran Owned Small Business, was honored to receive the 2017 NASA Stennis Space Center (SSC) Small Business Subcontractor of the Year award at the December 4, 2017, Small Business Industry Awards (SBIA) ceremony. Receiving this award was MTS President Paul Curd, Senior Vice President Tammie Hayes, and Program Manager Catherine Lizana. The SBIA recognizes Small Businesses, Large Businesses, Subcontractors, Prime Contractors, and Mentor-Protégé Agreements that support NASA's mission.

In support of SSC, MTS performs financial and resource management services, program planning and control functions, project risk assessment, scheduling, configuration management, data management, earned value management, budget integration, cost validation and reporting. MTS performance was recognized by multiple SSC organizations, which included development and implementation of the Microsoft® Project Server/SharePoint Integrated Master Schedule Solution. This initiative, spearheaded by MTS and implemented at other NASA Centers and the Air Force, provides a cost effective, comprehensive schedule management solution for commercial and government agencies. MTS promotes excellence and best practices in NASA program and project management at SSC and across the Agency.

MTS is pleased to announce it is has recertified to the ISO 9001:2015 Quality System standard, having successfully completed our recertification audit. In addition, MTS is now certified to the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental System standard. The integrated audit was held 26th – 28th October 2017, and was conducted by our third-party registrar TUV.

Our integrated Quality and Environmental System certification reiterates the MTS commitment to our customers, through continued customer focus, innovation and leadership; and to protecting the environment by striving to minimize environmental impacts.

ISO 9001:2015 sets the criteria for a quality management system. It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. There are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001. This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement.

ISO 14001:2015 sets the criteria for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. It can be used by any organization regardless of its activity or sector. This standard can provide assurance to company management and employees as well as external stakeholders that environmental impact is being measured and improved.

MTS has been ISO 9001 registered since its initial audit in November 2011.

HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA – Manufacturing Technical Solutions (MTS) received the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) 2017 Small Business Prime Contractor Excellence Award.

MTS received the Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) 2017 Small Business Prime Contractor Excellence Award for its exemplary support provided to MSFC under the Marshall Integrated Programmatic Support Services (MIPSS) contract. MTS is one of seven prime contractors for the MIPSS Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) and prime for three of the five task orders under the MIPSS BPA: Program Planning & Control (PP&C), Project Coordination (PC), and Programmatic Subject Matter Expertise (SME).

On behalf of MTS, Paul Curd, MTS President and Founder, accepted the award which was presented by Mr. Steve Miley, MSFC's Director of the Office of Procurement, and Mr. Bobby Watkins, Manager of the Human Exploration Development and Operations Office. This is the third time within four years that MTS has received the Small Business Prime Contractor Excellence Award.

Each year, MSFC recognizes both small and large prime contractors during the semi-annual Marshall Small Business Alliance (MSBA) meeting. This year's fall MSBA took place on September 21, at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, with over 500 in attendance. These awards recognize companies, teams, and individuals demonstrating success and sustainable achievement toward meeting NASA's missions.

Manufacturing Technical Solutions (MTS) was named the 2016 Small Business Subcontractor of the Year for Region IV by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

RADM (ret) Sean F. Crean, Director, SBA Office of Government Contracting presented the award to Mr. Paul Curd, MTS President and Founder, at the Annual Missile Defense Agency Small Business Programs Conference. The Regional Small Business Subcontractor of the Year Award honors small businesses that have provided the Government and industry with outstanding goods and services as subcontractors. Selection criteria for this award includes contract performance, customer support, innovativeness of products/services, and delivery performance that makes the company a valued product/service provider.
